Dr. Michael Minyard
I am honored to serve as the Principal of Barksdale Elementary School and to lead a campus with a long-standing tradition of excellence. With over two decades of experience in education, I have had the privilege of serving students as an elementary classroom teacher, instructional leader, and campus administrator. Before joining Barksdale, I spent five years as Assistant Principal at Wyatt Elementary School in Plano ISD, where I worked alongside exceptional students, staff, and families to support academic achievement and foster a positive school culture.
I earned a bachelor's degree from California State University, Long Beach, a master's degree from California State University, Fullerton, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of North Texas.
I am passionate about creating a learning environment where every student is challenged, supported, and inspired to reach their full potential. I believe that strong relationships, high expectations, and innovative instructional practices are the foundation of student success. As education continues to evolve, I remain committed to ensuring that every child receives engaging, meaningful learning experiences that prepare them for the future.

Mrs. Erin Camp
My name is Erin Camp and I am excited to join the Barksdale family as your new Assistant Principal! I started in Plano in 2012 at Rice Middle School and have served as a 6th grade teacher, team leader, and campus PBIS leader - supporting students and teachers. Throughout my career, I have been passionate about building strong relationships, supporting teachers, and helping students reach their full potential.
I earned my bachelor's degree from Texas Woman's University and my master's degree in Educational Leadership from Lamar University.
One of the reasons I chose education is because I understand the impact a caring educator can have on a child's life. I strive to ensure that every student feels seen, supported, and encouraged to succeed. I look forward to getting to know our students, families, and staff. I am excited for a great year ahead!
