Barksdale Elementary School
Hello! My name is Cathy Ledsome, and I am honored to serve as the Student Support Liaison at Barksdale Elementary. I hold a Master of Education with a specialization in curriculum and instruction from the University of North Texas and a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies with a specialization in reading instruction from Stephen F. Austin State University. Before stepping into my current role, I served as both the 2nd and 3rd grade Team Leader for over 25 years.
My Role as Student Support Liaison (SSL)
In essence, I act as a bridge between school and home. My goal is to ensure every child receives the tailored support they need to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally. My daily work includes:

Student Advocacy: Helping students navigate challenges and build essential life skills.

Program Coordination: Serving as the Campus Section 504 Coordinator, MTSS Lead Facilitator, Campus Summer School Coordinator, and Accelerated Instruction Lead.

Collaborative Partnership: Working alongside teachers, administrators, and families to foster an inclusive environment where every student can thrive.
I feel incredibly fortunate to be part of this community. I am committed to the success of our students and look forward to another wonderful year!
